Andrei Stenin Contest announces 2026 shortlist

The organizing committee of the 12th Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest has announced its 2026 shortlist, which includes works by young photojournalists from 13 countries.

The full list of finalists and their photographs is available on the Russian and English versions of the contest website.

The shortlist was selected by the competition's international jury. The final prize placements – including first, second, and third places in each category, as well as the Grand Prix winner – will be announced this fall. At this stage, the shortlist is unranked.

The international jury for the 12th Andrei Stenin Contest features distinguished photographers and recipients of prestigious international awards: Alia Al-Shamsi (UAE), Guo Jing (China), Ivan Macias (Mexico), Gurinder Osan (India), Patrick Baz (Lebanon), and Grigory Dukor (Russia).

In 2026, the competition received approximately 2,500 entries from 36 countries. The shortlist includes single photographs and series by young photojournalists from 13 countries.

The winners, including the Grand Prix recipient, will be announced by the organizing committee in the fall at the Winners’ Announcement Ceremony and on the Russian and English versions of the Stenin Contest website.
