The work of RIA Novosti news agency special photo correspondent Alexei Filippov was included in the top 10 in the "Portfolio" category of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), a leading sports media award. The images selected by the jury of experts contain fragments of the Biathlon World Championship in Pokljuka, Slovenia, in February 2021.
Alexei Filippov is the winner of numerous Russian and international photography awards, including the silver winner of the AIPS award in January 2019. In March 2020 the National Press Photographers Association (USA) recognized Filippov as the Best Sports Photographer of the Year.
The International Association of Sports Press was founded in 1924 and unites sports journalists from 160 countries, including Russia. The purpose of the AIPS award is to recognize professionals who create the highest quality sports content in text, photo, video and audio formats. AIPS contributes to strengthening cooperation between the association members in protecting sports and professional interests of its members, as well as ensuring the best conditions for their work.
